You need a windstopper here. The fog is very common and temperatures don't exceed 25 celsius in summer. So people go in water only with water suits. We've seen the Coit Tower and the city with the bridge. Alcatraz is 70$. You can do a 49 mile scenic drive through the city. if you have a rented car, do scenic drives like these, because it is a great way to see the city. You get used to the city traffic, and it's not worse than driving in Ljubljana.
We stayed in an old hotel with old elevator. Every building has an elevator, because of the hilly treets and narrow many story houses. Parking is very strict and expensive, similar to Chicago center. Here it has to do with hills.
So San Francisco is really colorful and alive city. We loved it. The people, the weather, the hills, the streets.

Los angeles. The end my only friend the end. The Doors, Hollywood, sun, beach, big city. City of stars, and big 6 lane highways. L.A. is the second biggest city of US (12M) behind New York and in front of Chicago. We stayed 3 nights in a motel. It is hot. Lots of beaches. Hollywood has these 2 streets of stars on the pavement and many interesting stores like 2 hand vintage clothes, where you can find every outfit there is. Hollywood is all about image and style. You can wear what you want, like in most of american cities. Cinema theaters are most expensive in Los Angeles. Funny.
We went to visit Olga, a cousin of my grandfahers. She hasn't been in Slovenia for 45 years. She does many interesting things. She is a kiropractic, a painter, plays acordian and has this great '73 Cadillac Seville. There is only one old cinema theatre in whole Los Angeles that plays old movies and what a theatre it is! It is called Old Town Music Hall and it has a Wurlitzer pipe organ. The owner plays it before the main movie. Ticket is 8 dollars.
The pacific beach is one thing to come to Los Angeles for. The waves are great not only to throw yourself in them but also for surf and sport.
